Analysis of documents, questionnaires and interviews to clarify and identify needs, priorities and project risks. 

Scope of service

The purpose of diagnostics is to specify priorities in the field of development of data warehouse, applications and BI reporting, as well as to identify key project risks based on documentation analysis and interview with key managers.

As part of the diagnosis, we analyze the organization in the following areas:
— Business strategy, business model, organizational and IT strategy;
— Gaps in the methodology of strategic planning and organization, management accounting and reporting;
— Identification of the sponsor, manager, business customers, users and implementation team.

Within the diagnostic our consulting services include:
— Questioning: identifying key participants, establishing contacts;
— Meetings with top managers: identification of a potential sponsor and project manager, business customers, members of project steering committee, business users and the implementation team;
— Presentation for the board: road map and high-level work plan, recommendations on methodology gaps, project organization and key roles in the implementation team.

At the stage of questioning and analysis of documents, we identify potential participants in the implementation project and analyze the gaps in the methodology.

In addition, we conduct personal meetings and interviews with top managers, determine their motivation, prioritize goals in development of data warehouse, applications and reporting, as well as identify the potential sponsor and project manager.

Management accounting

In case of significant gaps in the methodology, we provide consulting and training in management accounting and reporting, as an integral components of the management information system development. Services in this part are described in the Courses section.

Strategy and business model

If necessary, we provide consulting and training in the field of strategic and tactical planning, as a component of the management information system development and implementation. Services in this part are described in the Courses section.

Results

As a result of the diagnosis, we prepare a report and presentation to the board, where we structure the information around the following areas:
— Gap analysis in methodology and reporting;
— Analysis of IT-architecture and a preliminary implementation budget;
— Consulting areas and training programs for closing gaps in methodology and reporting;
— A priority list of project tasks and key areas of reporting;
— Proposals for sponsor and project manager, as well as short description of key roles in the implementation team;
— Road map for the implementation of the data warehouse and information system.
